Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the Central Java Police (Polda Jateng), Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Alqudusy, S.H., S.I.K., said the findings and recommendations of Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) regarding the incident in Wadas Village, Purworejo Regency will be used as material for analysis and evaluation for the Police, Thursday (24/02/2022).

“We respect the findings and recommendations of Komnas HAM. This will be used analysis and evaluation for us to perform better,” said Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Alqudusy, S.H., S.I.K.

Currently, the TNI and the National Police (Polri) continue to build social communication in Wadas Village, both to those who support or reject the existence of an andesite rock mining area for the needs of the Bener Dam project.

The TNI and Polri have also carried out social services in the Wadaas Village area, ” We help to develop of wells sanitation, provision of reservoirs, and giving free medical treatment,” said Kabid Humas Polda Jateng.

Back on 2 February 2022, there was a conflict when BPN Central Java tried to do land measurements for residents who were willing to release their land for the Bener Dam project.

Komnas HAM (Human Rights) has met with the Central Java Police Chief (Kapolda Jatenng), Inspector General (Irjen) Drs. Ahmad Luthfi, S.H., S.St., M.K., moments after the incident. Komnas HAM relayed several preliminary findings based on the institution’s monitoring in Wadas Village.

Komnas HAM RI and Kapolda Jateng agreed to coordinate more intensively in order to prevent the same incident from happening again while at the same time creating a conducive atmosphere in Wadas Village.
